#3 Punta Mita Golf & Gourmet Classic Featured Chef: Thierry Blouet


Born in Puerto Rico, Chef Thierry Blouet began his career in the Hotel Camino Real in Ixtapa in 1983. He was quickly promoted to Chef de Partie at the Hotel Camino Real in Mexico City. In 1988 and 1989 was recognized as Chef of the Year in Mexico, and in 1990, with two partners, created Café des Artistes restaurant, which immediately gained acclaim as Puerto Vallarta’s finest restaurant. He bought out his partners to become sole owner of it in 1994, as Cafe des Artistes gained a strong following for its bistro cuisine. In February 2000, Chef Blouet was honored with the most prestigious trophy for all chefs, as he was admitted to the circle “Maîtres Cuisiniers de France” where he is listed as one of the 40 French chefs who hold this title, considered the pinnacle in the culinary industry. In 2003 Chef Blouet opened the Thierry Blouet Cucina del Author restaurant, with a capacity for just 30 diners, and a view to the exhibition kitchen, for true aficionados of fine dining.
