On Sunday night, Punta Mita kicked off the opening of the 2014-2015 Winter Season with what promises – and what we hope! – will be a new annual event: the Flavors of Punta Mita, which took place at the St. Regis Punta Mita Resort. Over 350 residents and guests participated in this smashing evening that consisted of sampling the culinary treats of all of Punta de Mita’s top restaurants, accompanied by samplings of fine wines and Patron tequila. All ticket and raffle prize revenue was destined to benefit Punta Mita’s two local charities, the Punta de Mita Foundation and PEACE Punta de Mita. Those in attendance raved over the quality and overall festive spirit of the evening!

Mastermind of the “Flavors” event and St. Regis General Manager Carl Emberson had this to say: “We are happy to have created an event that brings together the whole community – our two beautiful hotels the St. Regis and Four Seasons, master developer of the community, DINE, the two charities PEACE and the Punta de Mita Foundation, and a large majority of Punta Mita restaurants and preferred suppliers all in one event with a noble cause. It was truly a reason to celebrate Punta Mita and kick off what promises to be a great season!”

Flavors of Punta Mita is a remarkable example of collaboration that is characteristic of the iconic destination in the Riviera Nayarit, a paramount beach destination in Mexico. The event also included participation from journalists around the globe, including Colombia, Brazil and Canada, who visited the Riviera Nayarit through the Visitors and Conventions Bureau.

Flavors of Punta Mita was a celebratory night that brought together Punta Mita’s key players who lent their support for two notable causes,” added Emberson. “We were proud to sponsor the evening at our resort and are thrilled with the success of the event.”

A variety of chefs showcased their culinary talents, including: Chef Naoki Katori of Carolina, the AAA Five Diamond restaurant at The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort; Chef Pato Persico of Sea Breeze, also at St. Regis, who is making waves with his new Sea Breeze Burger Club; Chef Thierry Blouet, renowned chef and owner of Tuna Blanca; and Chef Oliver Deboise of Tukipa at Imanta Resort Punta Mita. Participating restaurants included Las Marietas, Si Señor, The Blue Shrimp, Tuna Blanca, BocaDeli, Serendipity, Rosa Mexicano, Aramara, Bahía, and Sisushi. DJ Mauricio Lemus provided beats for Flavors of Punta Mita.

“I’ve been in Punta Mita for more than 15 years, and Flavors of Punta Mita is no doubt the best kick off of the season that I’ve ever been to,” mentioned Joan Edwards, a Punta Mita resident.

“The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort is well known for organizing events featuring the best of what the destination has to offer, and Flavors of Punta Mita is another great example that reflects the support and collaboration of the hotel with the community of Punta Mita,” said Thierry Blouet, chef and owner of Tuna Blanca.

Giving back to the community of Riviera Nayarit is one of the fundamental values of The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort. In honor of the festive spirit of the season, Flavors of Punta Mitawill support the local PEACE and Punta Mita Foundations by donating the 50 percent of its sales to benefit the organizations.

Congratulations to all who devoted their time and efforts to kick off our community’s “high season” in such a spectacular way!
