Jungle Love at Cafe Como No in Punta de Mita

Café Como No has generously opened its gates for an art exhibition with a series of new paintings called “Jungle Love” by Punta de Mita artist Marco Alvarez. Inspired by the vibrant light and colorful palette of Punta Mita, Marco has taken a different direction from his well-known abstract works. In this series of paintings, he captures familiar scenes and reinvents them as playful reminders of the Punta Mita we have all come to love. Marcos work has been shown in galleries and museums throughout México, as well as in New York, Colorado and currently in Newport Beach, California.

Café Como No opened with the idea of filling a niche in Punta de Mita providing simple, tasty, and affordable dishes combining honest Mexican and American fare in a comfortable ambiance. The fresh green salads have really taken off along with the hamburgers (one of their best sellers) and all the Mexican plates including a delicious Sunday pozole are prepared with an eye on a more healthy style of cooking including low salt along with olive and canola oils. Cheerfully greeted by Jeff or Abdon, (who by the way are one of the original residents of Punta de Mita) at the seating area in front of the open kitchen there is a choice of staying for the action or entering into a cozy garden courtyard or an upper deck with glorious bay and ocean views Café Como No.

Come celebrate with Jeff, Abdon and artist Marco Alvarz in the emerging “Village Art District” (VAD) with a glass of wine in Punta Mita at Café Como No Thursday March 22nd and Friday 23rd from 5-7 pm. We hope to see you there!
