New Graduates and Fresh Faces to the PEACE Scholarship Program

Knowledge is an asset and the best investment we can make in order to meet the challenges of the future, and PEACE Punta de Mita has it very clear. Every year they run different initiatives to support successful educational programs in the community. Their Scholarship Program is one of them, giving young students the impulse that is needed to continue studying high school. Only the best students from CAMPEONES program can become receivers of the academic scholarship to study in one of the most recognized schools in the region. Thanks to this program, young talents have the opportunity to excel academically, broaden their horizons and exploit their full potential, so that in the future they can generate real social change.

Last year the first round of students from this program successfully received their high school diploma, and this year a second round achieved their goal and now Amram Cortes, Misael Ramos and Alondra Flores are waiting for their results to enter university.

The Scholarship Program has proven its success and this year it will continue with two new students who will start with Colegio Bucerias, completing their three years of high school starting in the 2019/20 school year. The Scholarship Selection committee, overseen by Katherine Nidermaier, selected two amazing students. The first student selected is Bridget Meza from Punta de Mita. A dedicated student, Bridget was an Honors student three years running at the Emiliano Zapata Secondary and often speaks publicly at CAMPEONES events. Her dream is to be a photographer for Nationl Geographic. The second student selected is Yosmavi Saldivar from Higuera Blanca. Yosmavi was also a consecutive honors student at the Higuera Blanca Secondary and plans to be a psychologist when she graduates from Colegio Bucerias.

Congratulations to the 2019 graduates and the new scholarship recipients, and big thanks to the entire PEACE Punta de Mita organization for your continues dedication and work to improve the quality of life of our community.
