The Octopus Garden
About The Octopus Garden
This fascinating place combines the rustic charm of old Mexico with modern day amenities: the cool garden patio with fast Wi Fi and freshly roasted organic coffees, the upstairs palapa bar built around the branches of a huge Huanacaxtle tree and the arched cine/theatre space for festivals and special events are all here to be explored and enjoyed by visitors.
The Art Gallery holds a dazzling collection of indigenous art by the Huichol people native to Nayarit and Jalisco; beadwork, jewelry, traditional embroidery and weaving. Behind the scenes is the Hikuri screen printing shop where the collectable Huichol t-shirts are produced on the "octopus" printing machines which inspired the name for the café.
