Punta de Mita Village
Tranquil Punta de Mita village (also referred to as El Anclote, as well as Nuevo Corral del Risco) is the residential hub of the North Shore region, with its family-friendly azure swimming waters with sandy bottom, numerous dining options and recreational activities—mostly oriented toward aquatic pastimes.
The string of restaurants located on the waterfront is known as “Restaurant Row”, serving up a collection of dining options ranging from the traditional to high concept cuisine. Seafood is – natch! – a specialty. Interspersed are shops, boutiques and galleries as this town begins a gradual gentrification.
Near the center of waterfront activity, where the jetties extend out to sea, is the town’s boat co-operative. It has pangas for hire, waiting to take you to explore the Marietas Islands, on whale-watching excursions, or out to the surf breaks only accessible by sea.
Several condo communities are located within the village, offering comfortable accommodations, easy beach access, and a generous dose of local color!
