Summer in Punta Mita has a wide array of activities to enjoy under the beautiful sunny sky: surf, jogging, biking, swimming, tennis, fishing, golfing, sailing… and we could go on and on, but the true challenge is to keep a healthy skin after so many fun days under the sun. And for that our friend Jessica Van Kurczyn, beauty & wellness expert and owner of Spa in House Experience is sharing with us some useful tips for a radiant and healthy summer skin.

And to hydrate your skin externally you can use a refreshing spray lotion you can use during the day. Hydrating creams and oils allow your skin to recover the humidity lost and are specially useful for dry skin. The most important point is to look for a product with hydrating and emollients properties.

4-exfoliating-newClean Skin – During the summer days clean your face at least twice a day, due to the weather it is normal to sweat more and pores might get clogged leading to blackheads and acne. Daily cleaning must be done with soft products that eliminate skin grease and accumulated impurities without affecting the skin acidity.

sunblockProtection – It is very important to use daily sunblock protection to defend our skin from the UV rays. Sunblock must be chosen depending on your skin type and activity to be developed during the day.  A light 15 SPF lotion might be perfect for a regular day at work, but a higher SPF is needed for outdoor and water activities. And very important, sunblock needs to be applied 30 to 45 minutes before the sun exposure to prevent this is eliminated by sweat and water.

woman-sunlight-exposureSun Exposure –  We know is nice to wear a nice tan, but be careful! Try reducing the sun exposure during the central hours of the day. The strongest UV rays during the day are between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Seek shade when UV rays are the most intense, but keep in mind that shade structures such as trees, umbrellas or pergolas do not offer complete sun protection. Remember the shadow rule: “Watch your shadow – Short shadow, seek shade!”

Exfoliate – As in any other season of the year, during summer exfoliation is a very important procedure to eliminate dead cells and allow the skin regeneration. This beauty rutine will help you have an attractive and soft skin. Besides, exfoliations work great before sunbathing, it cleans your skin for a better sun rays reception and helps getting a uniform tan. You might want to try Spa in House´s Almonds, Honey and Yogurt Exfoliant Treatment, it is based on antique beauty rituals and will remove dead cells and rehydrate your skin while you enjoy a relaxing back massage.

Now that you know how to keep your skin beautiful and healthy during the summer months… let´s enjoy of the sun, sand and sea in Punta Mita!
