The Punta Mita Gourmet & Golf Classic brings together the world’s best Chefs, acclaimed Wine Specialist, world class Golfers and a list of very Special Guests, all reunited  to enjoy of a long weekend full of the most exquisite food, best wines and exciting golf in the most exclusive destination in Mexico: Punta Mita!

This is the first article of the serie where we will be introducing you the Special Guests participating in the Punta Mita Gourmet & Golf 2016 and whom will join the organizers to create an amazing event!

60Bodega Rivero González


Born in Madrid, Spain. Juan Francisco is the head winemaker of Rivero González. Agronomist from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and a master’s degree in Viticulture and Enology. With over 10 years of experience producing wines in Extremadura, Spain. Juan is a wine enthusiast always looking for more knowledge, investigation and development in the wine industry.



His love of food and the moments it generates, Elias Gutierrez entered the vast world of beer and founded Bocanegra three years ago alongside Guillermo Gonzalez Beristain. A small brewery whose philosophy is to create the highest quality beer and serve on the best tables in the world.



Jesus Briseño attended the Siebel Institute in Chicago for Brewmaster. After graduation he worked in several breweries including Goose Island Beer Factory in Chicago and in Mexico City.
In 2004, he founded Cerveceria Minerva which is CEO and brewmaster and he has achieved great success and rapid growth ever since. He is President of the Mexican Association of Brewing (Acermex).
He is also a founding partner of the franchise specializing in beer “El Depósito” and of the restaurant “Cervecería Unión” in Guadalajara. He is an organizer at the Festival of Guadalajara, the most important event of its kind in Latin America with over 30,000 attendees and 25 breweries in its last edition. In 2010, Minerva Pale Ale won the gold medal at the World Beer Cup, being the first Mexican beer to win this award.

58Fernando Pérez Castro

La Lomita y Finca La Carrodilla /


Winemaker and farmer at Baja California since 2005, Fernando owns La Lomita and Carrodilla wineries. With a degree in Communication from Universidad Iberoamericana and founder member of the Wineries Association of Ejido El Porvenir at Valle de Guadalupe, Baja California. Fernando is one of the first winemakers that starts biodynamic agriculture in the region.
His cellars are projects of a new generation in Mexico distinguished by the quality of its wines with sustainability and edge technology, ideal for enotourism in Baja.

57Mica Rosseau

Fifty Mils, Four Seasons Ciudad de Mexico


With French and Portuguese blood, Mica was born in Tours, France in 1982. Mica Rousseau began working in different restaurants since he was 16, introducing himself into the world of cocktails.
He opened his own bar when he was 22, where he experimented with flair bartending and new mixology concepts.
After arriving in Mexico, Mica worked in different parts of the world and participated in various competitions, winning the Bacardi Legacy Cocktail Competition in Mexico. Mica represented Mexico in Puerto Rico. Rousseau´s talent is behind the creative cocktails of the Fifty Mils Bar at Four Seasons Mexico City.

Mezcal Real Minero


With 33 years old and as part of a fourth generation of mezcal producers at Santa Catarina Minas, Oaxaca.

Graciela considered that women are fundamental for mezcal, “Mezcalilleras” have been key to maintain mezcal into business, thanks to them, mezcalsurvived during the prohibition times.

As part of a new generation of women involved in the production of mezcal, Graciela is now taking decisions from the production to the marketing of her  mezcal.

Mezcal is what defines her life & world, Part of her identity and her biggest passion.

Her academic experience, turn her eyes back to agave fields, to remember the plants she grow with and the aromas of cooked agave she used to smell. She rediscover her memories so ordinary transforms into extraordinary.

She feel now is her turn to share part of her heritage to the upcoming generations and open new opportunities for the generations to come.

Currently she is in charge of the family business with her father and mom, but also she is playing her role as mother and wife.

She considered that the biggest challenge is to be a modern woman in the mezcal industry, a industry that was just reserved for men. She is now an ambassador and part of a new generation of mezcalilleras …. The women of mezcal.

61Bodegas San Rafael


Bodegas San Rafael is a family business that is located 38 km east of the port of Ensenada, Baja California and 820 meters above the sea level.
It is the first winery established in the Valley of San Rafael, which recently was named as the Ojos Negros Valley, because of the two cienegas that at nightfall reflected the moon as mysterious woman eyes.
The project starts In April 2000 with seven hectares of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Syrah.
Teamwork and careful attention of Maymes Hussong family, are the mainstay in the production of excellent wines, to please the most demanding palates.
Our vision in Bodegas San Rafael, has been to innovate in terms of production techniques, keeping the romance of classical winemaking, in order to create precedents and set a standard in the wine industry.
Nowadays with 30 hectares of vineyards in production and thirteen labels on the market. We are pioneers of what it’s going to be a new wine region in Mexico. An upcoming valley that in the not too distant future will welcome new Mexican wine makers.

34Alfredo Sánchez

Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita

Born in Mexico City. Fan of Mexican drinks from our wines to our spirits. Alfredo began his career in the food & beverage at the age of 18 years old, after working as bartender for Mexican brands such as Tequila Sauza or Casa Domecq.

Alfredo decided to move to Puerto Vallarta where he discovered his passion for the Tequila and other Mexican spirits. This passion takes him through the state of Jalisco to visit the main tequila producers in Mexico and learn the interesting process from the fields of the agave to their aging stage. As a result of his passion Alfredo dedicates several months of study to become a Tequila Expert and Sommelier, certified by the Mexican Academy of Tequila in Mexico City and the ONSOM (National Organization of Sommeliers of Mexico).

With promotional trips in different cities of the world like Hong Kong, San Francisco, Calgary, Houston, Buenos Aires, New York, Chicago and Barcelona. Sanchez has the opportunity to promote Punta Mita, expand knowledge and share our traditions around the globe.

Working currently at Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, Mexico. Alfredo leads the beverage program at the resort and dedicates most of his time developing ideas with the F&B team to create new concepts for cocktails mainly based with local ingredients that represents our culture; he is also promoting the Culture of Tequila, wine and other local drinks in Bahia de Banderas.

True believer about Mexico’s showcasing its folklore and traditions through its cuisine and beverages, sentiments the world still needs to discover more about our famous Mexican spicy touch.
